Sriom Adisakthi Ashram
A Sanctuary of Universal Love & Humanitarian Service
History of the Ashram
Sriom Adisakthi Ashram was founded with the divine vision and guidance of Sriom Adisakthiyendra Swamigal. His spiritual journey and intense tapas (penance) led to the establishment of a sacred space dedicated to universal love, compassion, and the formless divinity known as Adi Sakthi.
What began as a humble spiritual center in the early 1990s has now grown into a worldwide sanctuary for devotion, meditation, and humanitarian service.
Founding Years (1991–1993)
The foundation of the Ashram was laid in 1991, when Swamigal selected the serene village of Avalur, Tamil Nadu, as the birthplace of the movement. In 1993, the core shrine—the Sriom Pancha Sakthi Peetam—was consecrated through a traditional Kumbhabhishekam performed by Swamigal himself.
In its earliest days, the Ashram was a simple environment with no electricity or permanent structures. Devotees gathered in a thatched hut to meditate, symbolizing a foundation of dedication and simplicity.
The Vision: Sriom Pancha Sakthi Peetam
At the heart of the Ashram stands the Pancha Sakthi Peetam, a shrine representing the five fundamental cosmic energies. Unlike conventional temples, the sanctum houses no traditional idols. Instead, the divine presence is symbolized through a Trisoolam (trident), representing the formless, all-pervading energy of Adi Sakthi.
The Peetam integrates the sacred truths of the Vedas and the wisdom of great sages. It is designed to resonate with seekers from all paths, reflecting the philosophy that God is one but may be experienced in many ways.
Growth & Humanitarian Mission
Guided by Swamigal’s philosophy—“Humanity Leads Divinity”—the Ashram has expanded into a vibrant center of service and community development.
Key Areas of Service:
- Annadhanam: Providing free meals for visitors and those in need.
- Healthcare: Conducting medical camps for rural communities.

A Global Legacy
